We are experiencing a lot of change at A.S. Designs & Services lately! Back in January we told you about our move to a new location out of our Downtown Hilo location to a bigger office and have had nothing but positive feedback from not only our clients but our staff! First of all, Taryn Fowler, a long-time employee and friend will be moving on to pursue a new career and will be greatly missed! We are also happy to announce the addition of a new Design & Marketing employee.
A Look at Designing for Brands
We recently shared with you our re-design labels and logos for Hawaii Nui Brewing and Mehana Brewing Company, as they switched from bottles to cans. Part of that process involved taking the original designs and recreating them with not only less colors to choose from but less space to use.
What Can Five Dollars Buy You?
We recently ran across an advertisement for FIVERR.com, a site that allows you to pay someone $5 to do just about anything from web design to house cleaning. We thought it would be fun to take one of our current clients and see what $5 could get them for a new logo. While we do all of our designs in house and would never actually use someone elseʻs designs as our own, it was fun to be on the other side of the table!
Hilo Web Design has a NEW Location!
If you hadnʻt already heard, WE MOVED!
2015 has brought many changes to the team at A.S. Designs & Services, the biggest of which is our new office space! We officially moved-in to our new space on January 19th of 2015 and are all looking forward to this new and exciting chapter at ASDS.
Feed Your Dog or Your Employees with Twitter
As a company that does social media marketing for several businesses we are not new to Twitter. However, some of the things you can actually do with Twitter has thrown us for a loop! For instance, did you know you can use your Twitter account to feed your dog while away at work or out and about? You can also send someone a $5 Starbucks gift card using Twitter, which we think is why Matthew is so adamant about using the platform!
2014 Year in Review
Itʻs been a wild and crazy year here at A.S. Designs & Services. We have been fortunate to work with great clients around Hawaii and the country this year! Our client base has been from all areas in the world of marketing and design from our new brewery clients to the ventriloquist out of Texas!
Facebook’s New 2015 Terms & Conditions
The Facebook community has been in uproar since the recent announcement of Facebook’s new Terms and Conditions that will take in effect January 1, 2015. Some of the new updates that have people deleting their Facebook accounts are GPS tracking every user from their mobile devices and sharing users data to third parties from advertising purposes, which by the way they already do now.
5 Tips for Small Businesses Using Instagram
Most businesses are aware that social media and marketing are now working together as one. And just as business needs developers who create React Native apps, in the same way, they also need a strong social media presence to get their business a vast reach. One of the many social media outlets we recommend to our client is Instagram. Instagram, for those of you who donʻt know, is a mobile application that allows you to take pictures, edit them, and post them online for others to see. We thought it would be good to share a few of the tips we share with our clients about having a successful and professional Instagram profile!
New Social Network to Use ONLY Emojis
What does it all mean???
According to Hawaii News Now, there is a new social network and mobile instant messaging app (iOs) for the emoji-savvy called of all things, emojli.
The creators of emojli, Matt Gray and Tom Scott, felt that there was a need for a spam free social network that can potentially cross the language barrier because there is, in fact, no language besides the emojis and they are the only allowable characters.
For those of you not familiar with what an emoji is, check out this article called “5 Things You Need to Know About Emojiʻs.” In the article you can see just how far up the emoji goes, including a petition from the White House for a hotdog emoji!
Would you use an app that used only emojis?
